Emilie de Ravin is getting lost in a whole new fantasy world. On the Valentine's Day episode of ABC's Once Upon a Time, tentatively scheduled for February 12, the former Lost star steps into the slippers of Beauty and the Beast's Belle. "Emilie projects a very natural strength and warmth, which are characteristics we wanted to explore with Belle," explains Adam Horowitz, who, along with writing and producing partner Edward Kitsis, kicked off a six-year stint on Lost writing a Claire scene.
While this take on Beauty will veer from the traditional tale as old as time, Edward says Belle will interact with her father, crazy old Maurice, the brutish Gaston and, of course, the Beast. (Alas, no singing dinnerware.) "We have a fun spin on it," he says. Later this season, expect visits from Aladdin and his genie!

From smallscreenscoop.com:
Once Upon a Time Spoilers - There will be no special Christmas episode of Once Upon a Time but there will be a Once Upon a Time Valentine’s Day episode. “We like old pagan-y holidays.” So look for other pagan holidays to be worked into the show. (Jade tries very hard at this point to bite her tongue and not point out to the nimrods at smallscreenscoop.com and Jane What'shername that Christmas has "old pagan-y" origins.) - Future Once Upon a Time characters will include Hansel and Gretel. - There will be a reveal of the Sheriff identity and it’ll be juicy. We’ll also learn about Billy the Mechanic. - We will learn how Snow White affected the Queen’s life more than we already know. “That’s not a mystery that we will hold for years.”
More Once Upon a Time ABC Spoilers - “You know who’s getting a GREAT ep later? The Mirror.” - Grumpy the dwarf has a backstory we’ll learn about. - Because Once Upon a Time is made with ABC/Disney there is permission to use Disney characters and names such as the dog being named Pongo. - Once Upon a Time Henry’s Father and his identity? We don’t know who Henry’s real father is yet, but we will definitely learn that. - “Major deaths? Well, we can’t kill a character in Fairy Tale Land if they are also in Storybrooke. Unless we get super tricky.” - “Has everyone in town made a deal with Rumple? I’d say no — the town is bigger than you think. But it’s an interesting question.” - Jane Espenson has also written season 1 episode 8, episode 12 and episode 15. She also might write one more for this season. (Jane Espenson wrote "That Still Small Voice")

From Ausiello:
Question: I was wondering if there was anything you could spoil about my new favorite show, Once Upon a Time? —Wendy Ausiello: I flunked Fairytale 101 at USC, so do me a solid and help me decipher this new casting breakdown: The show is looking for an actress in her 30s to early 40s to play a sweet, quirky, charming and clumsy fairy named Nova.

From fuckyesonceuponatime.tumblr.com/post/13519307304/tv-guide-spoilersSomebody typed this up from TV Guide: "Any fairy tale worth its weight in pixie dust knows the importance of shocking reveals, so brace yourself for a jaw-dropper when the ABC hit airs its final episode of 2011 on December 11. “It throws the main characters into new situations,” teases executive producer Edward Kitsis. “It’s going to answer some big questions.” In the new year, we’ll learn how Snow White befriended the seven dwarves, and we’ll flash back to the mysterious origins of Rumpelstiltskin. On the romance front, the decision by Prince Charming to go back to his wife complicates Snow’s journey, while Emma finds herself attracted to “somebody who will be coming into the show in a very mysterious way,” says Kitsis. “His agenda will be a huge question mark for the audience.” There will be less ambiguity when it comes to the Evil Queen. “You’re going to realize how dark, sick and twisted she really is,” Kitsis promises. But what does she want? “In the beginning part of the new year,” says executive producer Adam Horowitz, “well delve into what she’s planning to do.” "

Storybrooke school teacher Mary Margaret Blanchard is working hard to walk the fine line between Snow White and, well, Ho White. In this exclusive clip from the next episode of ABC’s Once Upon a Time (airing Sunday at 8/7c), we learn that David — Prince Charming’s alter ego — has left the woman claiming to be his wife, in part because he feels such a strong, strange connection to Mary. Matt’s Inside Line: Scoop on Once Upon a Time‘s Buffy Connection, and More! Mary’s soul, though, is as white as the driven snow, so she is hesitant to get involved with a married man. But when he invites her to think about it and deliver her answer by meeting him at “their bridge” (or not), you’ve got to think the teach might be tempted enough to open the book on her happy ending. Or will the Evil Queen… er, Regina… do something to make sure that this affair is not to be remembered? P.S. If you’re out there on Twitter, know that Josh Dallas (who plays David/the Prince) will be live-tweeting Sunday’s episode (at @joshdallas).

E! spoilers: "With an elaborately created evil curse on the line, emotions are certainly heightened. So just how dangerous can we expect Regina to get? Evil is in her fairy-tale counterpart's name after all. "She's going to have to start reacting," Espenson explains. "Storybrooke has been constructed very specifically by the Evil Queen and because Emma (Jennifer Morrison) is there the curse is starting to fray and crumble around the edges. As Emma lives there longer her influence will start spreading in the town." So it's safe to say Emma and Regina won't be BFFs, combing each other's hair anytime soon. If you know anything about us you know we are suckers for TV true loves, so the best thing about Once's dual stories is twice as much Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas). Hope you love them as much as we do, because Espenson says we'll "see various chapters in a fairly long history between them." And he might look the part of the perfect prince, but Espenson warns: "Forget what you think you know about Prince Charming." We will soon learn about what family he is a part of—and it won't be at all what we expect. And what about that pesky "wife" of the prince's amnesiac Storybrooke counterpart, David? Will she keep Mary Margaret and him apart? Espenson promises things will get "very complicated and very emotional." Also complicated and emotional is Snow's relationship with the Evil Queen. If there was any ambiguity as to whether Regina remembers her fairy-tale past, Espenson reveals: "Regina knows. She has her memory as the Evil Queen." Things just got a little more deliciously evil. But if you search in the recesses of your childhood memories, you may remember that before she was the Evil Queen, she was also Snow's stepmother, and we will soon learn all about the epic fallout that eventually led to Snow hiding in the woods—and a little glass coffin. Which brings us to the town's mysterious law enforcement hottie, Sherriff Graham. Seriously, why is he so hot? Maybe it's the rugged good looks or endless supply of vests. But even we can see past that and have noticed he is firmly in the hazy gray area of good or bad, and we've heard all the theories on his identity, from Huntsman to Big Bad Wolf. Espenson tells us: "You'll see how his interactions in the fairy-tale land [with the Evil Queen] brought him to be where he is in Storybrooke. We've seen the affair with Regina, we'll see what the backstory is to establish that." So what did the sheriff do in his fairy-tale past to make him indebted to Regina today? Nothing good, no doubt. www.eonline.com/news/watch_with_kristin/why_once_upon_time_like_buffy_plus_just/278074#ixzz1fPK2MDh1

Once Upon a Time | Fans of ABC’s fantastical freshman series geeked out more than a little when Emma Caulfield was cast as the Blind Witch from Hansel and Gretel lore. And the show’s bosses share that enthusiasm. “We’ve been huge fans of hers since Buffy, so we’re very excited to have her on the show,” Adam Horowitz told me. Added Edward Kitsis: “We couldn’t think of anyone better to trap two children in a house and try to eat them” than the portrayer of a onetime vengeance demon. Though the EPs were hesitant to share much more about Caufield’s Episode 9 storyline, I’m hearing it will be revealed that the Blind Witch has a none-too-friendly past with the Evil Queen – something having to do with an item that one of the villainesses stole from the other.

Casting Scoop: Once Upon a Time Finds Its Gaston! Today 3:25 PM PST by TIERNEY BRICKER My, what a guy, that Gaston! Emilie de Ravin, the time has come to meet your Gaston! When it was announced that the Lost actress would be taking on the role of Beauty and the Beast's Belle on ABC's Once Upon a Time, fans immediately wanted to know two things: Would she dye her hair brown (she's donning a wig!), and who is playing Gaston? Lucky for you, we've got the answer! We once suggested Smallville's Tom Welling for the role (and later changed our minds and dream casted him as The Little Mermaid's Prince Eric), so did OUAT heed our advice again? We can exclusively tell you... We've confirmed that Psych's very own Sage Brocklebank (aka the hilarious Buzz McNab!) has landed the meaty role of Beauty and the Beast's Gaston on the ABC hit show. Brocklebank will appear in episode 12, titled "Skin Deep," which puts a new twist on the classic tale (as old as time!). While other characters from the original will appear (including Belle's father and the Beast), the episode will also give fans something they've been salivating over: information about the mysterious and elusive Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle). So, given that the title is "Skin Deep" and the word "skin" is actually in Rumplesliltskin's name...take from that what you will. The episode is set to air on Feb. 12. Once Upon a Time airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. What do you think of this casting news, Oncers? Is Brocklebank what you imagine Gaston to look like? Sound off in the comments! Charvi5: Anything on Once Upon a Time please!! There will be fairy tales that branch out of the central European folklore: "I wouldn't be surprised to see fairy tales from other traditions coming in as well," consulting producer Jane Espenson teases. "So keep your eye out for some stuff that's maybe not quite so Swiss looking." In addition to Hansel and Gretel, this certainly opens the doors for Greek mythology, Middle Eastern folktales, perhaps enough material for 50 seasons and two movies? We can only hope. Tiffanydiane08: Any scoop at all on the Hot Hipster Sheriff (OUaT) would be very appreciated! You're in luck because we actually chatted with the HHS himself Jamie Dornan about his upcoming episode. While he wouldn't reveal who he is in the fairy-tale world, he did say they originally had a different character in mind, "But that didn't end up happening because of rights." He wouldn't tell us who, but when he guessed Robin Hood he said, "You're probably right." Check back with us later in the week to hear more from TV's hottest Sheriff ever! And the answer to your question is yes, his accent is every bit as swoonworthy on the phone as it is on the show. Stacey: Please give me some scoop on David and Mary Margaret on OUaT! They broke my heart last episode! Darn David/Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) and Mary Margaret/Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and their off-the-charts chemistry! Remember those behind-the-scenes pictures of David and MM kissing? The kiss is definitely one-sided. Sigh, can't they just live happily ever after already?! JeHong9: was the prince's death on once upon a time's latest episode the big death? Nope. And here's a small tease: the upcoming death puts that one to shame. It's epic. Once Upon a Time Spoilers – When will we found out more about Mr. Gold? by FRANKLIN BISHOP on DECEMBER 4, 2011 @chervil: Anything on Once Upon a tTme please! When will we found out more about Mr. Gold? We’ll learn more about Mr. Gold (the ah-mah-zing Robert Carlyle), and his fairy-tale counterpart Rumpelstiltskin, in episode eight, penned by Jane Espenson! “Some crucial facts about where Rumpel comes from,” are revealed in the episode, Espenson tells us. As for whether or not he’s truly evil, that remains to be seen. “He’s a wild card,” she says. “His ulterior motives are still always very complicated.” @ddwordnerd: Once Upon a Time, please! I am obsessed with this show! We are too, so clearly, you have flawless taste in television. Congrats! Remember that deal Emma (Jennifer Morrison) made with Mr. Gold? “He’s going to hold onto that for a while,” Espenson teases. “He’s going to make sure that’s paid off when he can get the maximum bang.” Read more www.tvrockstars.com/once-upon-a-time-spoilers-when-will-we-found-out-more-about-mr-gold/I don't know HOW creditable this is, but...I found this. THIS IS INCREDIBLY SPOILERIFIC, SO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHO MAY DIE, DON'T READ. I am going to miss Gus on Breaking Bad, but I am so glad Giancarlo Esposito is going to be on Once Upon a Time. What can you tell me about that role? — Brad ADAM: He plays the Evil Queen's Magic Mirror. But like every character on the show, he has a different role in the non-fairy tale world, where he works as a newspaper editor named Sidney. Unlike his mystical counterpart, Sidney doesn't speak the truth, but rather prints whatever the Evil Queen/Mayor wants him to -- especially when a suspicious fire kills ***SEE LINK FOR NAME*** ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/64672059.html#ixzz1fje444jc(Given the sensitive nature of the spoiler, I starred out the name.
