Any ideas? With the way he was staring at Ruby, I would say the wolf, but it doesn't feel right. All we know so far is he's a doctor with a wandering eye, who doesn't pay for a date, and is in league with the Mayor in some way.

Wouldn't be surprised if he is the wolf.
But "Whale", you'd think his name would be a wink of something....
Whale, sea?

I've seen speculation that he's the whale that swallowed Pinocchio

Probably because the other tale I can think of with sea is the little mermaid
Unless he is one of the eels (the eye thing). Because the villain was a woman

I'm going with the Whale in Pinchicco as well. Monstro was his name.

It's been forever since I watched Pinocchio, did Monstro deliberately swallow Pinocchio or did it just happen accidentally?

Never saw Pinocchio properly so don't remembe the details

According to Wikipedia, Monstro only appears in the Disney version, not in the original version. Personally I've probably seen the film when I was 5, so my memory is very foggy, so I looked it up. Here's what the Disney Wiki says: and... On a side note-- we also saw the Blue Fairy in the pilot. She was the one that told Snow & Charming that they could send someone to another realm through the magic tree. I'd initially thought she was one of the fairies from Sleeping Beauty, but it makes more sense for her to be Pinocchio's fairy since she was all blue.

Good point about Monstro though. Didn't think of that. I automatically assumed he was "Doc" of the seven dwarves. Did we meet him in the pilot at all?

We did meet "Doc". He was the one delivering Emma in the pilot.
We've also met Grumpy (or Leroy the janitor/drunk) and Sleepy (the security guard at the hospital who fell asleep).
Dr. Whale is too mean to have been Doc, the dwarf. He has to be an antagonist in some fairy tale.

This is true. Although Grumpy was...okay, grumpy. Fair enough. I do see the potential for him to be the wolf.

I thought he was the Wolf too. But the name WHALE threw me of.
Unless what we need to focus is in the W

I think he's the whale in the Pinocchio story, too. I never liked that story, so I have no idea why he would be THAT important.
I do know that I loved the actor who plays him back in his "Alias" days, so I'm looking forward to seeing where we go with it.
I loved the scene in the beginning with him and Snow & how he's ogling Ruby's butt. LOL
