OK, well, this place is exactly what it says it is... a place to introduce yourself and to post random thoughts about anything and everything.
To start it out:
My name is Sana and I'm a TV addict. Other things about me... used to love Smallville (still do, deep down inside) and I'm hoping that OuaT lives up to it's potential.

Oh, are we introducing ourselves? Let's see...
I'm Jade and I don't know if I would say I'm a TV addict. Mostly because the first step is admitting you have a problem, and I'm not there yet. I used to love Smallville (and, like Sana, still do...deep down inside). In fact, that's how Sana and I met and all of this began. I'm not-so-secretly hoping to talk her into getting into the world of fanfic writing with me again, because we had such fun with it together in the past.
And because I love Sana so, I'm going to tease her and point out that she used the wrong "its" in her initial post. We've betad for each other, so it's a bit of a habit!

Hi my name is Evie, though I go by Thelionessrules online. I'm a TV and fanfiction addict, though I was trying to wean myself off tv after Smallville, but Once Upon a Time sucked me right back in.
Up to the 3rd grade all I wanted to read was fairy tales and Snow White was my favorite story. I'm really enjoying Ginnifer Goodwin's portrayal of the character's two sides, especially since the modernized version has some Lois like traits.

Well here I am. The people from Smallville fandom know me from DI and other places.
I love OUAT for pretty much the same reasons as all of you. One, I desperately need a new TV obsession since SV is over (not that I don't still obsess over it). Two OUAT has all the ingredients of a show that can become my favorite: A legendary/meant-to-be couple, a kick ass heroine who is not a damsel in distress, the banter between the guy and the girl and off course the emotional stuff.
So, I look forward to being a part of this fandom and this forum and hope to read a lot of great fanfiction too *ahem* which knowing that Sana and Jade are the Fairy Godmothers of this forum should be a given.

Hello all (again!) I know a few of you guys from the Smallville boards, so hiya! I am, what my friend said once, teleknowledgeable. Which means basically that I don't necessarily watch a ton of TV, but I make myself knowledgeable about a lot of TV shows. lol Which is weird, I know. But I suppose it comes with having a subscription to Entertainment Weekly.
I very readily fall in to love with TV shows. Recently I've been addicted to "the Office", "Smallville" and "Rookie Blue." My Office-love waned, Smallville ended, and Rookie Blue is on its hiatus (it's a summer show). I'd been just telling one of my coworkers that there wasn't a show I was obsessed with this season (there are plenty I make time for, but none that I would seek out fanfic or spoilers for) when some of my online friends over at another board were talking up a storm about OUAT. I had some time off and decided to sit down and watch the first 2 episodes and by the third-- WHAMMO-- hooked.
I teach law and every year I get my students to read a fairy tale and determine the laws that are broken (lots of murder, animal cruelty and kidnapping!) in each story. Because of that I am familiar with more than my share of characters in the fairy tale world. In addition to the fact that my parents bought me all these Disney and "I Can Read" fairytale children's books they sold at the grocery stores back in the 80s. I still remember reading over and over the Cinderella one. So now that I'm hooked in to the mystery of Storeybrooke, I'm hoping that it doesn't get as confusing as Lost got for me by the first season (gave up on that show!).
Looking forward to talking to y'all in this fandom!

(I watched the movies in the 90s.)

LOL the power of Disney's mass market expansion during the late 80s and early 90s, I read the same books as a kid too. That's how I got familiar with the Disney versions. The only time I watched the movies was during rain days at school and if they were playing on a television channel.

It's sooooo easy to find source material for. Actually Snow White was what I first started to analyse with the class but too many of them wanted to do it for their assignment. Snow White is probably the most popular one to be analysed. That and ironically, Rumplestilskin. lol

Hi All:
My name is Maya. I wasn't going to watch this show. And I'm still not sure why I let my sister talk me in to this. She's the one who talked me in to season 1 of Smallville all those years ago knowing how much I hate Lana Lang. "oh don't worry" Famous last words. I continued watching, she quit. "How was I supposed to know they'd elevate Lana like that? Just turn it off" If she does this again...I will kill her.
Anyway. Yesterday I watched the four episodes. Not bad. My kids are enjoying it too. So now we have two shows to watch together. Dr. Who and Ouat. That along with Sweet Genius on the Food Network sums up what I watch.

My name is Leela, sister to Maya. She's not just bitter about my mistaken idea that Lana wouldn't become the most important character to the smallville writers, she's angry about stuff that happened 30 years ago (i.e., I'd get her into some show or book series, and then abandon it, leaving her trapped)
So here's the details:
Huge Buffy fan. Also highly loved Avatar, the last airbender (not the craptastic movie). I'm middle aged but I don't let that stop me from enjoying the younger hipper shows. Software geek for living, have to daughters of tween/teen age.

True that. And I think this is the first time since the LnC days we're posting on the same forum!!

At least you'll be able to turn this one off because you're not emotionally invested in the Snow White/Prince Charming love story. I mean... you aren't, are you??? I managed to get my mom (who never watches American TV) addicted the show. I hope it stays "clean" so she can keep watching. My kid? Refuses to watch because he's not into fairy tales.

I really liked "Buffy" back in the day. But I'm a bigger "Firefly" fan than "Buffy" fan (if we're talking anything Whedon related). Are you looking forward to his version of "Much Ado About Nothing"? And "Avengers"? I'm 33 (soon to be 34) and I'm probably too old for this stuff, too. But I hope I never outgrow it. Superman, Harry Potter, fairy tales, Princess Bride... sign me up. Hell of a lot more fun and interesting than "grown up" stories.
