Hi everyone! I'm Allyson, but I'm known as either Serenyty or writerserenyty around the internet. I'm a huge TV/film nerd, especially if it's sci-fi (The X-Files is my favorite show ever, but I also love Firefly, Doctor Who, Star Trek, etc). I'm actually in college right now as a Film Studies major, and I hope to someday work in Television production! Working on a show like Once is a DREAM for me, because it really seems like everyone involved is excited to produce something amazing. I saw a lot of promos for Once and decided to give it a shot, despite my somewhat busy schedule, and I absolutely ADORED it. It quickly inspired fanart, fanfiction and a level of involvement I rarely have in fandom. Since Once has so far had five AMAZING episodes, I hope this will continue! I'm also a big knitter, I love classic literature (I saw some other people were Jane Austen fans here! =D), and my other big fandom is the JPop fandom, for which I write the blog Happy Disco (intlwota.com/happydisco). I love forums, so I was excited to find this! Welcome!! You need to post your fanart and fiction in that sub-forum! We'd love for you to share!

Hi, I'm DJ Rocca. I'm addicted to many TV shows since I was very young but my biggest and strongest obsession is now "Once Upon A Time". I'm GROSSLY obessed with the show. I found this over at livejournal, where I'm also known as DJ Rocca. I also go by that on fanfiction.net too. I'm a hardcore Ruby fan and she is my main focus. I ship her mainly with Gold and Archie. But wait until Belle arrives. Oh boy, I'm already giddy! That's really all I feel like sharing since I have to get ready for work, which is annoying and time consuming Welcome, DJ Rocca!!! Glad to have you. I already checked out your art and figured out you're a huge Ruby fan. Which is awesome, because she seems quite interesting. I'm more a Snow and Emma fan right now. (Although being an Emma fan is requiring a bit of work on my part.) I'm not much of an Emma fan, I don't care for Jennfer Morrison and I cannot stand Henry either...

Wow! I go away for a day and we get a couple new people in here! (Coincidence, or should I take it personally? Maybe I should go away more often! Hah...like I could!)
Joking aside, welcome to the boards! It's lovely to see new faces in here (not that I don't love the veterans!).
The jury is still out for me with Ruby. I wish they'd start giving her a bit more focus! I don't dislike her, mind, but I don't adore her yet because they just keep popping her in out out. Enough to make me think, "There's probably going to be more with her in the future." I did like her scene where she lied to Emma to protect Cinderella. I thought that little scene really gave an insight into her character that showed quite a bit of promise. (And sometimes a little scene like that can really tell you a lot. To this day, I like Gwen Stacy more than Mary Jane in the Spider-Man movies because the on scene where she apologizes to MJ - after Peter used her to make MJ jealous - showed more character than MJ showed in the entire trilogy of movies. But moving on...)
So, yeah, I'm looking forward to getting to know Ruby more. I also can't say I'm a huge fan of Emma's. I don't dislike her. She's not my "Lana" - she's CERTAINLY not my "Chloe." I expect Sana's eternally grateful for that, because there are only so many hours she can spend on the phone with me while I spew fire and my head rotates 360 degrees at the mere mention of a name. That said, I don't love her either. There just isn't much to go on, there, and while I recognize the dilemma they're facing with her character...well, we don't have much more to go on with her than we do with Ruby or Geppetto even, and we don't have the same excuse they have to be okay with that.
You can count me in as a Snow fan at present. I like characters with snark and banter. So if there's another character introduced in the future with that kind of attitude, you can bet good money that I'll love them.
Your art is quite lovely; I confess I checked it out first before coming in here. I was going to be Lazy Admin and let Sana explain, but since I've been caught out, I should explain her question about the banner. We're looking to replace the banner at the top of this board - the "Enchanted Forest" banner. That was just thrown together so we'd have something; it doesn't match the color scheme or anything. I've requested my mom make one, but she seems to think my fandom activities are less important to her than her getting her work done before deadline. *disdainful sniff*
If you're not interested, that's fine. We have a banner contest going on and, so far, we have no entries. But since it's the holiday season, I'm not terribly surprised!
I only watched Lost in the first season. Then I realized it was the kind of show that you actually had to pay attention to every single week, and I wasn't in a period of my life I could pay that close attention to a show. (Everyone ignore my Smallville fandom activities for now, will you?) I did RP Sawyer for a while for a friend of mine, which was a lot of fun. Mostly for the free reign to come up with nicknames.
I seem to have lost the plot here. Oh! I probably would go spoiler-free with OUAT more than I do, but someone's gotta compile spoilers for the board! (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)
Okay, with that, I think I've written a thoroughly random post, in which I respond to everything with absolutely no segues whatsoever! But welcome to the boards you guys!

I'm not much of an Emma fan, I don't care for Jennfer Morrison and I cannot stand Henry either... I'm gonna be honest: they're making it hard for me to like Emma, but I'm going to keep hard to make it happen. I didn't like Morrison on "How I Met Your Mother" or "House", so I'm pleasantly shocked that she's not annoying the crap out of me in this show. Henry? Yeah. Is it wrong to wish that a child character ends up dead or missing by the end of the season? For a LOOOONNNGGG stretch of time? I mean, c'mon, "Lost" did it with Walter. They could go there with Henry. I'd miss Henry a lot less than I missed Walter.

I don't know how I feel about Henry right now but I definitely don't dislike Emma. In fact I kind of like her. Not as much as Mary Margaret but yeah.
I don't know what they're planning to do with Ruby (since I am not following spoilers - I normally never do, unless the show's name is [was] Smallville) she's just there and she's not doing anything. Why is she there?
The one character that's really annoying me is Kathryn and it doesn't even have to do with Snow/James. I mean, how sweet can you really be? She's a hoax. No one can be so nice and smiling all the time, especially when they can clearly see that there's something going on between their hubby and this chick that is always around whenever she shows up.

I have moved DJ Rocca's post so that those who don't want to be spoiled aren't accidentally so. It can be found here. (It pertains to something you said, Shal, so if you don't mind spoilers you should check it out!) I do think there's more going on with Kate. She's either hiding something or she's monumentally stupid. More on that later, undoubtedly! Going to go prowling for spoilers again!

I debated whether to move it, myself, since it isn't concrete. But I know some people are really, really anti-spoiler, so I tend to figure better safe than sorry. Plus, I figure that even if it doesn't happen in that particular episode, I would be SHOCKED if it didn't at some point.

I want to go ahead and send out a huge "Wecome!" to all new members who have joined recently. Including one VERY POINTED one to "Catastrophia" - who has thus far apparently decided that her honeymoon is far more important than discussing Once Upon a Time. I encourage you all to do everything you can to make it quite clear to her that this is by no means acceptable behavior on her part. I only allowed her to get married when she did because Once Upon a Time hadn't aired yet. If I'd known this show was coming, I'd have demanded she rearrange her life accordingly. Naturally. Okay, all semi-facetiousness aside...she's a very old (as in long-term, not as in age as she's actually several months younger than me and thank GOD the board has her birthdate posted as I somehow, over the last 20 years, have never managed to actually get the date right), very dear friend of mine and I give her a hearty welcome. I also encourage her to abandon her current obsession and start writing some OUAT fanfic. I'd say she should juggle the two, but those on top of the stories we write together might make her come after me with a shrimp fork (one of those wedding gifts I'm sure she undoubtedly got and that I know her well enough to know she will never, ever use). I'd even be willing to write WITH her, if that's what it takes. I also hope she joins in the Banner Contest. I mean, SOMEBODY has to, right? I'm feeling unloved. (Actually, I'm just thinking, "Please don't say that I have to figure out Photoshop and make one up myself." I'm pretty sure that's entirely beyond my capabilities.)

Hey everyone! My name is Kay and I am just getting into the world of Once Upon A Time. I mostly signed up because I love to read fanfiction and talk about episodes after they have happened. Nobody else that I know has figured out how wonderful this show is so I have to rely on you guys to squee and/or vent about characters My favorite character is Snow White, which seems to be a consensus. I actually don't mind Emma/Jennifer Morrison. I didn't like her that much on How I Met Your Mother and I can't remember the last time I watched House, but I seem to be enjoying her on this show. I like that many of you are LOST fans, as knowing that some of their writers were doing this show is what initially caught my interest. Can't wait to see more of this show!

I like that many of you are LOST fans, as knowing that some of their writers were doing this show is what initially caught my interest. Can't wait to see more of this show! Welcome! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to pop in here sooner to give you a more proper welcome. When the phrase "The dog did not consent!" has actually been uttered in your workplace, you know you're having a hell of a day. Yup. It's been that kind of a week. Anyway...welcome! I will be more than happy to squee and/or vent, and while things have been a bit quiet on the boards this week, I think it's because there's been plenty of speculation already on what's happening in this week's episode. But it looks like the action is just picking up (looking at spoilers), so I'm hoping more conversation will be had coming in the near future! And hopefully more fanfiction will be both written and discussed on the boards! My favorite character is also Snow White at present, though I do enjoy the deliciousness of Regina/Evil Queen. I just hope they give her a bit more evil in the future. She hasn't done anything TRULY evil in a few weeks. On the other hand, I also enjoy the sympathetic side of her character. So I'm torn on what I want for her character. While I love Snow the most, I am probably the most intrigued (non-romantically) with Rumple. Robert Carlyle has really sold me on his character. Is he over the top? Yes. But it's AWESOME. Emma...eh...to tell the truth, I don't DISLIKE her, but I'm not SOLD on her either. I think that the structure of the show has inherently caused her character to have a flaw. There are a couple actresses I feel I might prefer in the role, but it's not like Castle, where I actually have a bit of a hard time getting into the show because I find it so problematic to get into her character. And, again, I don't dislike her. I'm willing to give her a chance; I just wish the show would give us a bit more to go on with her character. Henry...well...I'll be honest. I don't know that I can think of a single show where I've really loved the kid character. The best I get is Claudia with Warehouse 13, and even with her, she's like college age. She's just the "young" person on the show, and it works because the show hasn't written her as a Mary Sue. But for the most part...hey, I'm not that into kids in real life. And on television, I generally find less to be more in terms of kid characters. I do think Henry has his place on the show, but I think his character should be used sparingly, as opposed to being a staple of the series. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll develop Emma much outside of Henry for now, so I may not get the character development I'd like to see without a dose of Henry on the side. Anyway, it's good to have you here! Feel free to make yourself comfortable and dive into the threads. I've got a busy weekend ahead of me, but I'm hoping to hit the boards a bit more than I managed to do this week!

Hi all! My name is Amy and I found this board before my sister did so I'll introduce myself first although some of you might know her already, but I'll let her speak for herself. I was an accounting major in college who switched after the first semester of second year to English Lit so I have a little fondness for Jane Eyre myself, although I also adore the sci-fi book version by Sharon Shinn called Jenna Starborn. Don't get me wrong, I love classic literature, but my heart is in fantasy, fairy tales, sci fi, superheroes, you name it. I was at my sister's place when the current SyFy (or as the person at the DorkTowers website calls it SighFie) came on the air and I've seen - and loved most of the shows it has aired. Some of my favorite shows were/are Farscape, Firefly (I never watched Buffy or Angel), Earth 2 and Eureka - all of which ended too soon - plus the Stargate franchise, Battlestar Galactica (and I'm old enough to remember watching the original on network tv), Supernatural, Castle, Grimm, and the Walking Dead. For the poster who asked about Joss Whedon's version of "Much Ado," I am hyped to see it, and the cast is awesome too. The next movie I'm looking forward to is The Hunger Games and then the Avengers.
I don't mind any of the ships, don't mind spoilers, like Henry, and just look forward to seeing what the writers do with remaking all of the fairy tales. One of my college professors had a section in class devoted to Grimm's fairy tales and as a kid, I read most of Andrew Lang's Fairy books, so I'm psyched about OUaT.
Hopefully, you didn't mind this long post!

Hello everyone. I recognize some names from the Smallville boards, where I was known as geminis. This is the first time my twin and I are on a board together. *Ack!* We are definitely way too old for this (the boards), but our father's mantra is/was 'young at heart,' and I kind of feel that you are never too old for fairy tales. Maybe it was the brainwashing/indoctrination/quality time brought on by a childhood reading fables, fairy tales, fantasy, superhero comics, science fiction and mythology books available as well as watching 'The Wonderful World of Walt Disney' every Sunday night in the days before VCRs, DVRs, cable television, personal computers and the internet. I love Smallville, Babylon 5, Farscape, all the Stargate series, Lord of the Rings, Lois and Clark, Wonder Woman, Iron Man Armored Adventures, Supernatural, Sanctuary, the current Marvel movies, and I could go on and on. So I'll stop. For now. Robert Carlyle is even better as Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin than Dr. Rush in SGU and light years ahead of Durza in Eragon. I'm in a love/hate relationship with Lana Parrilla's Evil Queen/Regina (her real first name has me very conflicted, but gotta love the Latina and the EQ/R's machinations) and Sheriff Graham (love the accent, hate the fact that he's Regina's toy boy). I don't mind Jennifer Morrison (maybe because the only thing I know her from is The Super Hero Squad Show as Wasp and Winona Kirk in the Star Trek revamp). Pongo makes me happy, so does Geppetto (Tony Amendola), and Henry (makes me think of my oldest nephew Henry Franklin ). I'm a Snow-ing (Snow and Charming) {although not of the white stuff outside my window} sucker and can't wait to see what happens next. And I'm cursing the fact that this Sunday's episode is the last episode this year.
